The Oroville Salmon Festival is a time for celebration. The celebration takes place on every fourth Saturday of September between the Feather River stretch, Historic Downtown Oroville, and the Feather River Fish Hatchery. This annual festival is filled with great food, environmental education, music, tours of the processing plant, kid games and activities that highlights this free event. The festival is from 10 am to 4 pm.
The Fish Hatchery celebrates the thousands of spawning salmon. During the same day, Historical Downtown Oroville hosts a pancake breakfast, a certified farmer's market, live music, a craft fair, clowns and rides for the kids from 9:00 AM-4:00 PM. At the Feather River Nature Center, guests can enjoy the Maidu Salmon Ceremony with live dancing by local Native Americans and free fish-tasting all day; there is also a free shuttle to transport people between events from 10:00 AM-5:00 PM (Lake).
